Helen Holm Scottish Women's Open Championship

Royal Troon Golf Club | April 17-19

Grace Bowen produced a nerveless final round to win the Helen Holm Scottish Women’s Open Championship at Royal Troon.

Bowen shot 71 around the legendary Old Course for a two-stroke victory over Jessica Ross.

Overall, following 54 holes of strokeplay in the picture-postcard Ayrshire, the English golfer carded an impressive -5 winning score.

The storied amateur event began with 120 contestants from 15 countries.

Following two rounds – in biblical conditions – on the Portland Course, 62 made the cut.

The last day became a two-horse race between Bowen and Ross, with the latter pursuing the former right to the end, for an unforgettable start to the 2026 golf tournaments in Scotland.

Senior PGA Professional Championship

Royal Dornoch Golf Club | May 13-15

May 15, 2026, will forever be remembered as a historic day for golf in the Scottish Highlands.

First, just outside Inverness, Tom Doak’s Old Petty officially opened at Cabot Highlands.

Later, at Royal Dornoch, Greig Hutcheon won the first-ever Senior PGA Professional Championship staged in Scotland.

Hutcheon justified his pre-tournament favourite tag by finishing four shots clear of runner-up Andrew Wiley. Along with the silverware and prize money, the Aberdeen native secured his spot in the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship.

Clearly, while out on the hallowed Championship Course, Hutcheon also felt the significance of the occasion.

In the opening round, he shot 62 to equal the course record and never looked back.

Scottish Men’s Open Championship

Glasgow Golf Club | May 29-31

There must be something about the untamed Ayrshire linksland that inspires English players.

First, Grace Bowen prevailed at Royal Troon.

Then, at Glasgow Gailes Links, Greg Holmes broke the course record en route to winning the Scottish Men’s Open Championship.

Following 72 holes of strokeplay, Holmes finished on an impressive -12 to edge out Denmark’s Mads Heller by two strokes.

The victory also secured his spot for all final Sprint events in the European Amateur Order of Merit (EAOM).

Meanwhile, his Round 2 performance earned him a permanent place in the record books.

Holmes posted a stunning bogey-free 62 (-9), including nine birdies, to set a new amateur and professional course record.

St Andrews Links Trophy

St Andrews Links | June 5-7

You can bet this won’t be the last time Lev Grinberg wins at the Home of Golf.

The Ukrainian-French teenager, the youngest player to make the cut at a European Tour event, took the St Andrews Links Trophy with a masterful seven-shot victory.

Considering 143 other top amateurs had arrived in Fife with dreams of glory, the winning margin is all the more impressive.

Grinberg, who helped Team Europe win the 2023 Junior Ryder Cup, posted a final score of -18 after 72 gruelling holes of strokeplay across the New Course and Old Course.

He’s now a step closer to earning an invite to The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale Golf Club.

Regional Qualifying for The 154th Open

Craigielaw Golf Club | June 22

Strictly speaking, this is not one of the 2026 golf tournaments in Scotland.

However, given the course, region, and occasion, it warranted inclusion.

Craigielaw Golf Club. East Lothian. Regional Qualifying for The Open.

For local players, it’s a precious opportunity to progress to the Final Qualifying at Dundonald Links.

Craigielaw
Charming Craigielaw

In Craigielaw, they face a crafty modern layout.

Strategic bunkers, around the fairways and greens, stalk your approach to equally perilous putting surfaces.

Not to mention the snaking burns, stone walls, and deceptive rough.

And yet, you can expect an endlessly charming golfing experience with unforgettable vistas across the North Sea.

Genesis Scottish Open

The Renaissance Club | July 9-12

Finally, after three barren years, the title drought ended for Tom Kim.

The South Korean couldn’t contain his tears after winning the Genesis Scottish Open with an outstanding performance on the final day at the Renaissance Club

In a faultless display of back nine frontrunning, Kim carded a bogey-free 64 to finish on -17 in East Lothian.

His two-shot victory on Scotland’s Golf Coast, where top-class championship links abound, also earned him £1.2m in prize money and a much-coveted invite to the 2027 Masters Tournament.

Good things come to those who wait!

Meanwhile, Johnny Keefer, Michael Thorbjornsen and Victor Perez all secured qualification for The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale Golf Club.

ISPS HANDA Women's Scottish Open

Dondonald Links | July 23-26

Bogeying two of your final three holes in the championship round is not usually a recipe for victory.

But Jenny Shin had already done enough to secure the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open and win her first trophy since 2016.

Shin, who led the event from pillar to post, finished two shots clear of South Korean compatriot A Lim Kim at Dundonald Links in South Ayrshire.

The latter’s late salvo, coming just as the former faltered, certainly kept things interesting on Sunday at the stay-and-play paradise.

However, under par in her first three rounds on the par-72 Kyle Phillips design, Shin’s overall score of -9 reflected what was a worthy title-winning performance.

Scottish Men's Amateur Championship

Royal Aberdeen Golf Club & Murcar Links | July 28-August 1

As the incredible life of Old Tom Morris attests, greenkeepers often make champion golfers.

Greg Mclellan became the latest example with his win at the Scottish Men’s Amateur Championship in Aberdeenshire.

Mclellan, a keeper of the greens for Loch Lomond Golf Club, etched his name on a storied trophy alongside Colm Montgomerie and Robert MacIntyre

Boy, did he earn it.

Murcar

First, the starting field of 264 had two rounds of stroke-play qualifying between the exquisite layouts of Murcar and Royal Aberdeen.

Next, the top 64 competitors faced three rounds of match play on the Balgownie Links. Then came the final.

Mclellan claimed the title with a hard-fought 3&2 victory over Aidan Lawson.

Staysure PGA Seniors Championship

New Course, Trump International | August 6-9

August 2026 will be remembered as a hectic and historic period for Aberdeenshire golf.

Especially the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship at Trump International Golf Links, Scotland.

For the fourth successive season, the glorious seaside resort welcomed the blue-ribbon event on the EU Legends Tour.

Only this time, the acclaimed New Course provided the stage.

The maiden professional tournament on this pulsating showstopper proved something of a redemption story.

At the 2025 championship, Darren Fichardt suffered a playoff defeat to Bo Van Pelt on the blockbuster original.

This year, the South African returned to Balmedie and settled his ‘unfinished business’ with a conclusive five-shot victory that the dazzling sequel made him work for.

Scottish Open Series Grand Final

Dumbarnie Links | August 17

More top-class championship action. A different modern masterpiece.

Along the North Sea, some 90 miles south of Aberdeenshire in the Ancient Kingdom of Fife, you’ll find the delightful Dumbarnie Links.

That’s where Adam Pollock concluded a season-long campaign with an unforgettable win in the Grand Final of the Scottish Open Series.

Dumbarnie Golf Links

The competition began in May and spanned six events featuring 226 club golfers from across the country.

After all that, Pollock’s epic journey was almost derailed by a triple bogey on the 13th at Dumbarnie.

But he immediately bounced back with a spectacular 100-ft putt on the 14th green.

Then Pollock birdied 15 and went on to claim a 3-stroke victory.

Nexo Championship

Old Course, Trump International | August 20-23

Not to be outdone by the stunning sequel, the blockbuster original at Trump International will also witness top-class action in August.

For the second consecutive year, the rip-roaring Old Course hosts the DP World Tour’s Nexo Championship.

Revived in 2025 following a five-year hiatus, the event will conclude the Closing Swing on the Race to Dubai schedule.

Trump International Golf Links
Old Course

The setting certainly befits the occasion.

Though it only opened in 2012, the so-called Old Course already ranks among the standout championship links in Scotland.

Carved through canyons of 100-ft dunes, for visual grandeur and architectural wizardry, Martin Hawtree’s creation borders on perfection.

Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

St Andrews Links, Carnoustie Golf Links & Kingsbarns Golf Links | October 1-4

Imagine a Major and the Oscars rolled into one star-studded event.

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, arguably the greatest annual showcase of the unparalleled golf in Fife, always provides a memorable season finale.

Its unique format combines a DP World Tour professional competition with the Pro-Am Team Championship over four action-packed rounds.

And what about those mouthwatering links…

Carnoustie

You’ve got the Old Course at St Andrews, the Championship Course at Carnoustie, and the modern masterpiece at Kingsbarns.
